Job Details Job Location: Newport Mesa Family YMCA – Newport Beach, CA 92660 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $23.70 – $28.68 per hour Position Overview The YMCA of Orange County is seeking a highly engaged, intentional, and service‑oriented part‑time Aquatics Deep Water Fitness Instructor. This role directly impacts community members by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The instructor will create a welcoming environment for members and youth while promoting programs that encourage water safety, skill development, and overall health and wellness within the community. All classes for this position are conducted in a deep‑water pool. Work Schedule Availability is required for morning shifts on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as a substitute. Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience: Prior swim experience required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certifications: Aqua Fitness Certification highly preferred. Group Fitness Instructor Certification with aquatics teaching experience accepted. Must obtain YMCA Fundamentals of Swim certification within 1 year of employment.
