Compensation: $200,000 – $260,000 Base + Meaningful Equity

About the Company: Our client is building a modern banking and cash management platform designed specifically for businesses that sell physical goods. The platform helps consumer brands and growing businesses automate critical financial operations that traditionally require significant treasury, finance, and FP&A resources. The team is small, highly technical, and product-focused, with backgrounds from companies including Shopify, Square, Rippling, and Toast. Engineers work closely with founders, designers, and other engineers to build, ship, and continuously improve core financial products. As a Software Engineer, you'll have significant ownership over projects from initial scoping through development, testing, launch, and iteration based on real customer feedback. What You'll Do

• Own engineering projects end-to-end from scoping through development, testing, launch, and iteration
• Design and build core products powering banking and cash management workflows
• Develop reliable backend services and APIs supporting financial products
• Build clean, intuitive, and high-performance customer-facing experiences
• Work across frontend and backend systems depending on product and engineering needs
• Build financial workflows involving cash management, payments, credit, bill pay, and financial data
• Design and maintain production systems using Kotlin, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and founders to define and build new products
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Work directly with real-world customer feedback to improve product functionality and usability
• Build reliable data systems supporting financial operations and reporting
• Contribute to architecture and system design decisions across the platform
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability as the customer base grows
• Participate in engineering discussions and help establish strong engineering practices
• Identify technical and product opportunities independently and drive them through execution
• Operate with high ownership in a fast-moving fintech environment

Experience Requirements

• Strong professional software engineering experience
• Experience building and shipping production software
• Experience owning meaningful engineering projects end-to-end
• Strong backend, frontend, or full-stack engineering experience
• Comfortable working across the stack when needed

• Experience collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with Kotlin, TypeScript, or comparable programming languages
• Strong backend engineering and API development fundamentals

• Strong PostgreSQL and relational database experience
• Experience building production applications on Google Cloud or comparable cloud platforms
• Strong understanding of software architecture and system design
• Experience building reliable production services
• Strong testing and code quality practices
• Experience designing and consuming APIs and third-party integrations
• Experience working with financial systems or business-critical workflows preferred
• Experience building scalable backend infrastructure
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and production reliability

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field preferred
• Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals
• Equivalent practical engineering experience accepted
