Adjunct Instructor, Chemistry

George Fox University announces a part-time, adjunct chemistry instructor position to begin in August of 2026. This instructor needs to bring expertise in General Chemistry and/or Organic Chemistry. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching laboratory and/or lecture sections of General Chemistry. Teaching laboratory and/or lecture sections of Organic Chemistry. Collaborate with Chemistry and Biology faculty members within the department. Teach courses in alignment with the university's mission and learning objectives. Develop and implement effective instructional strategies that promote student engagement. Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Utilize the university's learning management system (Canvas) for course management. Maintain professionalism and adhere to university policies. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility. Other duties as assigned. We're looking for candidates who have: A Master's degree, or significant professional experience in the relevant field. Demonstrated expertise in subject matter and commitment to student learning. Excellent professional interpersonal, organization, and communication skills. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
