Position Summary

Montgomery Steele is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing personal injury practice in Upland, California. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation matters, work directly with clients, negotiate with insurance carriers, and assist in all phases of personal injury litigation.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution.
* Conduct client consultations and maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status.
* Evaluate liability, damages, and insurance coverage issues.
* Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and settlement demands.
* Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
* Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
* Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
* Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial strategy and presentation.
* Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling.
* Maintain compliance with all court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Qualifications

* Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
* 1–5 years of personal injury experience preferred.
* Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Trial experience is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters.
* Familiarity with California civil procedure and litigation practice.
* Experience using case management software and legal technology platforms.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
