Job Overview Mechatronics and Robotics Technician – JLL Supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. The role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment and mentoring junior technicians. Key Responsibilities Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. Perform preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more. Maintain a positive working relationship across all operations facilities. Track and store department inventory. Move up to 49 lbs and handle repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, standing, and walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours. Travel up to 20% of the time. Mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment. 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field. 2+ years with automated conveyor systems and controls. 1+ year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading. 1+ year of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles. Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM and general safety standards. Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance. Basic troubleshooting of input and output functions. Physical Demands Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting tools and parts weighing on average 20 lbs, occasionally up to 49 lbs. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot (foot pedals), manual and wrist motions. Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, wet or uneven surfaces, and pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ lbs.
