Health First Medical Center, located in the vibrant city of Baytown, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our surgical center on a full-time basis. Work Environment

This onsite position operates out of our surgical center in Baytown, Texas. You will work a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled until 5:00 PM. You will be surrounded by a supportive team consisting of five medical doctors and five other nurse practitioners, enabling a collaborative approach to patient care. The atmosphere promotes teamwork, communication, and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories to identify health issues and provide appropriate treatments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging studies to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
• Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans for both chronic and acute health issues.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to therapy, making necessary adjustments to treatment protocols.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their health status, treatment options, and prescribed medications.
• Educate patients and their families about disease prevention and management strategies, fostering a deeper understanding of health and wellness.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices within the patient community and lead initiatives that support health promotion.
• Engage in research and advanced professional education to stay abreast of medical advancements that enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily care for patients requiring surgical evaluations and follow-ups within various demographics. You will work closely with diverse patient backgrounds, providing tailored care and education while addressing prevalent health issues in the Baytown community.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, or surgical environments.
• Strong knowledge base in primary care, acute care, and chronic disease management practices.
• Proficient understanding of health and patient care regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capacity for remaining calm under pressure.
• Current Physician Assistant licensure in Texas (PA-C) and a DEA number.
• Bilingual candidates will be given preference but it is not a requirement.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in surgical settings or related specialties such as internal medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
• Experience working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Active involvement in professional organizations related to Physician Assistants.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 140,000 and 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
