Job Title: Fabrication Technician / Fabricator

Job Summary


The Fabrication Technician is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing metal or other materials according to blueprints, specifications, and production schedules. This role supports manufacturing and construction operations by producing high-quality fabricated components while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Measure, cut, drill, grind, bend, and assemble materials (metal, steel, aluminum, etc.)
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, brake presses, shears, CNC machines, and hand tools
• Perform welding, tack welding, or assist welders as required (MIG, TIG, stick, as applicable)
• Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Meet production deadlines and quality standards
• Communicate issues, defects, or material shortages to supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification or demonstrable welding experience
• Experience with CNC equipment or automated fabrication systems
• Forklift or overhead crane certification
• OSHA safety training

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, dust, and temperature variations

Work Environment

• Manufacturing or fabrication shop setting
• Exposure to machinery, tools, and raw materials
• May require overtime, shift work, or weekend work based on production needs
