MRI Technologist - Weekend Program

Job Title: MRI Technologist Department: Radiology Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 hrs Schedule: 10hr Day Shift, Friday - Monday, 1pm - 11:30pm Weekend Program Incentive Pay: $5/hr on top of Base Pay SUMMARY As an MRI Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality, greatly enhances the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety. Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam. Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts. Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology. Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR. Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis. Provides excellent customer service. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Two year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent. NYS license in Radiologic Technology (or) must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R) within six months of employment. Effective 7/16/2018 - NYS Injection Certification within six months of employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work in various software applications preferred. Exceptional customer service and communication skills preferred. LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE $34.25 - $45.25 CITY Rochester POSTAL CODE 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
