Building Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Building Operations Engineer to support the maintenance, performance, and reliability of a commercial property. This hands‑on role is responsible for ensuring building systems operate efficiently while delivering exceptional service to tenants and stakeholders. Responsibilities Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine repairs throughout the property. Respond to maintenance requests, equipment issues, and emergency situations in a timely manner. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects. Complete general building maintenance, including lighting, doors, drywall, flooring, and common‑area upkeep. Monitor building performance, document completed work, and support safety and compliance initiatives. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities, or property operations. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Customer‑service mindset with excellent communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance/work order systems. Relevant certifications or trade licenses are a plus, including Universal CFC certification. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance duties. Comfortable climbing ladders, working in mechanical spaces, and navigating indoor and outdoor environments. Availability for occasional after‑hours, on‑call, or emergency response situations.
