Senior Survey Technician
An established engineering firm is seeking a Senior Survey Technician. The role involves utilizing Civil 3D to create maps and drawings, performing construction stakeout computations, and ensuring quality control on various surveying projects. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, strong technical skills, and a commitment to professional growth within a supportive, community-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Drafting: Create precise topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS surveys using Civil 3D or Carlson.
- Construction Support: Perform stake-out computations, prepare cut-sheets, and provide daily technical guidance to field crews.
- Collaboration: Work in conjunction with Project Managers, engineers, planners, operations, etc.
- Data Analysis: Process field observations, research historical deeds/records, and resolve complex boundary mosaics.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous QA/QC on all maps and drawings to ensure industry and regulatory compliance.
- Coordination: Act as a liaison between project managers, engineers, and field technicians to meet strict project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Higher is required. Ideally with a focus on CAD
- 5+ years of professional land surveying experience (office and/or field).
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; ability to build surfaces and alignments.
- Strong mathematical aptitude (trigonometry/geometry) and the ability to interpret handwritten historical documents.
- Must have a valid Maryland Drivers License
- CST (Certified Survey Technician) Level II or III and an Associate's Degree in a related field are a plus
- Requirements: Valid driver's license, a reliable work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
