As the D5LE2 System Safety Engineering Lead on the Fleet Ballistic Missile program, you will serve as the primary point of contact for system safety on the new program. In this role, you will: Manage and lead the safety analysis development across the programBe responsible for presenting the safety assessment strategy and status to the customer and for major program milestone reviewsPerform system and subsystem safety in accordance with MIL-STD-882ECollaborate across the FBM program integrated product teams (IPTs) to help foster a positive safety culture The information below includes the standard job description for this positionPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.Basic QualificationsExperience in the engineering development lifecycleMust have experience in requirements derivation, decomposition, and verificationExperience with contractual requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle. Desired SkillsA minimum of a BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent educationSubject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
