Position Type

Full Time with available start times: 5am, 6am, and 6:30am; 10-hour shifts

TRAINING IS ON 6:00am-4:30pm shift.

Position Summary:

We’re seeking talented, creative artists to hand-paint our locally made Aurora pottery. Training on the job is provided for our signature designs. Artisans are responsible for maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

· Decorators are responsible for applying stain/china paint to ceramic pieces in an efficient manner in compliance with the high-quality standards

· 5% Move pieces to and from racks and workstations

· 5% Data entry for labor recording and tracking

· 5% Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion

· Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards for size, shape and color of paint applications

Equipment Used:

· Paint brushes and small tools for painting

· Computers

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED

· Background in art either through employment or hobby preferred

Special Requirements:

· Exerts up to 25 pounds of force occasionally

· Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on improving efficiencies and maintaining quality

· Strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate in an individualized work environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

· Attention to detail.

· Requires organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

· Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

· Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
