About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Candidates must pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance. - Candidates are required to have their own vehicles. - Natural hair color and no facial piercings are mandatory. - Men must be clean-shaven for fit tests. Description: This position involves working in a small facility, with no trauma experience required. The unit is known for its excellent management and teamwork. RNs will be expected to maintain competencies in areas such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. All travel nurses should complete SIMs Lab for specific skills. Candidates indicating a lack of competence in these areas may not be a good fit. Common diagnoses include lower acuity cases, such as abdominal pain and headache. Nurses will manage all labs, EKGs, patient transfers, and participate in a positive workplace culture. Each nurse is expected to work a 1:4 patient ratio. Weekend requirements include working two weekends per month. The facility emphasizes maintaining sterile fields during procedures. Further educational training will cover lifts, restraints, and wound care. Flexibility is required as coverage may include additional duties based on census. Nurses will work collaboratively with nurse aides and paramedics. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Charting system utilized is Cerner. The role includes a responsibility to stabilize and transfer critically ill patients as needed. Nurses are expected to adapt to varying patient needs throughout each shift.
