Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in a Labor and Delivery unit, supporting safe and effective childbirth experiences. Responsible for managing low and high-risk pregnancies, performing procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs using GE fetal monitor systems and other equipment.
• Perform procedures such as C-sections, cerclages, versions, and epidurals with precision.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and doulas to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records, including Meditech and CPN.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including fetal demise and high-acuity situations.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital L&D experience.
• Achieve certification in NRP, BLS, ACLS, and EFM-C or AWHONN.
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for both low and high-risk obstetric patients.
• Possess strong teamwork and leadership skills, with excellent patient communication.
• Comfortable managing unblocked/unepiduralized patients and performing high-level procedures.
