Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations, production, quality, safety, materials, and a team of approximately 35 employees. The ideal candidate will have strong steel fabrication, welding, blueprint reading, and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead 10-15 fabrication employees.
• Schedule production, workflow, and material deliveries.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Oversee steel fabrication and carbon steel welding operations.
• Monitor quality, productivity, safety, and deadlines.
• Manage and order materials, supplies, and shop equipment.
• Oversee proper use of fabrication equipment and overhead cranes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide solutions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop.
• Assist with hands-on fabrication when needed.
• Communicate effectively with employees, management, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of supervisory/industrial management experience.
• 10+ years of steel fabrication experience.
• Extensive carbon steel welding and fabrication knowledge.
• Strong blueprint, measurement, and mathematical skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience managing materials and production schedules.
• Proven ability to lead a team of 10-15 employees.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding, noise, steel, machinery, chemicals, and overhead cranes. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
