Procurement Specialist - Chicago Public Schools

The Procurement Specialist supports the procurement team in purchasing, receiving, and distribution of product through the execution of standard operational policies and procedures. Achieves financial objectives by managing key metrics, identifying opportunities, and developing action plans for improvement. Assists in managing the account's product inventory, procurement processes and, ordering and monitoring product inventory levels, to enhance key business metrics and ensure client product needs are met. Responsible for ensuring prompt, pleasant and complete service is provided to internal and external contacts needing product or information. Supports the Service STARS culture and safety leadership in the account to provide a positive workplace.

Compensation: The salaried rate for this position is $60,940.00 to $65,000.00. Job Responsibilities: Tracks, reconciles, and orders product inventories for the account to effectively manage out-of-stocks, out-of-date product and weeks-on-hand to fulfill client needs. Controls inventory levels and product cost by coordinating/conducting physical counts (frequency TBD). Keeps current with and tracks relevant national and global supply chain market. Works closely with location management team and area support team to provide daily support and continuously improve the operations. Collaborates with procurement team and supporting departments to ensure efficiency of daily operations. Manages special programs through sourcing, purchasing and oversight. Creates and maintains ordering systems to ensure accurate product needs are met.

Qualifications: Proactively work to maximize efficiencies and establish scalable solutions. Ensure HACCP and safety standards are followed at all times. Performs other procurement, administrative and/or operations duties as required. Independent, self-starter, problem solver, strong desire to exceed expectations. Goal oriented and results focused; ready to take ownership of evolving work environment and responsibilities. Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt when priorities change. Strong quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Excel. Ability to apply innovative ideas to new or reoccurring work processes. Strong organizational skills including prioritization of workload with minimal supervision. Previous experience with logistics is ideal. K-12 food service experience strongly preferred.
