Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice in Columbus. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking sophisticated employment litigation work within a premier national law firm while maintaining a more predictable schedule and strong work-life balance.
This position is a non-partnership track role designed for attorneys who want to focus on high-quality legal work without business development expectations. The practice includes primarily employment litigation matters, with some exposure to both public and private sector traditional labor work.
Responsibilities- Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation filings
- Conduct legal research and analyze employment law issues
- Manage discovery and support all phases of litigation
- Assist with traditional labor matters involving both public and private sector employers
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on sophisticated workplace matters
- Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy, case developments, and legal issues
- Work closely with partners and counsel on complex labor and employment matters
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Employment experience
- Experience handling employment litigation matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Superior attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
- J.D. required
- Active Ohio Bar admission required
