Buyer I

Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Buyer I to join their team. As a Buyer I, you will be part of the Supply Chain Department supporting the New Product Introduction (NPI) team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Buyer I Location: Plymouth, MN Pay Range: 30/hr What's the Job? Create and process purchase orders, including direct, indirect, subcontract, stock transfer, down-payment, and discount orders, following documented procurement processes. Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventory levels in support of project demands by collaborating with engineering, sourcing, planning, category, and shipping teams. Process purchase requisitions and communicate with vendors to gather product information such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedules, reviewing quotes and acknowledgments for accuracy. Support and maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships with suppliers, fostering positive business partnerships with Abbott. Manage orders through to completion and resolve invoice discrepancies through order closure, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. What's Needed? 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or commodity management. Good working knowledge of procurement concepts, procedures, and practices. Familiarity with SAP ERP system preferred. Ability to work effectively within a quality system environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging at multiple organizational levels. What's in it for me?
