Scope Houlihan Lokey is seeking an intern to join the Corporate Development team. Over the past decade the firm’s bull‑bear balanced platform has grown over 13% per year since its IPO. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to operational efficiencies and strategic acquisitions, reporting directly to the CEO and CFO while partnering with heads of various business lines. The intern will work on acquisition activities, certain operations areas, and perform analyses and presentations for senior management. Responsibilities Assist the Corporate Development team on a broad array of acquisition‑related activities and other special projects. Support the team’s origination efforts, including developing acquisition target searches and profiles, conducting preliminary evaluation of industry participants for categorization and prioritization within the pipeline, and tracking pipeline activities through maintenance of the CRM database (extensive use of Salesforce and Pitchbook). Aid in post‑acquisition performance tracking by analyzing precedent transactions and creating reports shared with management and leveraged during deal execution. Develop and manage databases, processes, templates, and reports that drive efficiency and productivity for acquisitions and other strategic projects (e.g., precedent transaction databases, acquisition target lists, and presentation templates). Qualifications Junior or senior in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Previous professional internship experience preferred. Desire to pursue a career in investment banking or finance preferred. Basic understanding of financial modeling and analysis commonly used in acquisition work and general knowledge of relevant accounting principles. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient skills with Excel and understanding of PowerPoint and Word. Strong work ethic and self‑starter.
