- # Histology Technician - Pathology - Per Diem 8 Hour Day Shift (Union)Applylocations: Glendale, CAtime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: REQ20178601The Histology Technologist is responsible for processing all tissues and fluids submitted to the Pathology service, preparing/staining tissue slides and assuring they are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation.**Minimum Education:**An AA or AS degree in a related field preferred, but not required.**Minimum Experience/Knowledge:**One year experience in an Acute Care Facility setting and 3 years clinical training in an approved Histology Training Program. Prior experience to include: specialized stains, cutting, embedding, computer experience, quality control, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance and quality improvement.**Required License/Certification:**Valid Histology ASCP Certification preferred, but not required.As part of Keck Medicine of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is the only community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles backed by an academic medical center.
