Job Title - Direct Support Professional/Driver / AMAP for Residential Group Home Report to: Shift Supervisor/Asst manager Location: 4244 Vireo, Bronx, NY, 10470 Job Classification: Full time FLSA: Non-exempt Salary: $18 - $19 per hour Shifts 2 pm - 10 pm 10 pm - 8 am 8 am - 4 pm Brief Job Description: DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in the Bronx and Yonkers serving individuals with developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans, overall familiarity with individual needs, and active advocacy for all individuals in the Residence. Direct Support Professionals are expected to support each individual to establish functional independence in specific skill areas, implement individual's Residential Service Plan goals, objectives, and document their progress. Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). Experience 1-2 years in the Human or Health services field preferred but not required. Preferred prior experience working in a residential group home setting. Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional Requirements Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people. Excellent analytical ability and organizational skills. Flexibility, poise, tact, and the ability to develop rapport with individuals of various backgrounds and positions.
