KT Heat Treat Full-time Regular Heater Operator K-T Bolt MFG, Katy, TX, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1259 Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Heat Treat Manager Direct Reports: N/A Summary The Furnace Operator is responsible for setting-up equipment, loading materials, monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. The ideal candidate, after training is complete, will be able to utilize precision tools, inspect parts produced for quality and achieve set production goals. Essential Functions/Duties Monitors and adjusts furnaces and related equipment to ensure products are treated to meet customer and internal specifications. Operates heating, cooling and transports loads in a safe and efficient manner within operating guidelines. Performs various inspection tasks on equipment and products to promote sustained quality and stability of the entire heat-treat line. Accurately and timely records/reports data to department leaders. Maintain an orderly, safe working environment. Performs other related duties as required. Other duties as assigned. Ability to maintain positive relations within all levels of the organization. Ability to communicate, present facts and provide recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with or without direct supervision as well as independently or in a team environment. Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism while under pressure and in the face of adversity Ability to prioritize and work with accuracy under stress. Ability to critically think and use good judgment in decision making. Physical/Cognitive Demands This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. The hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mandatory weekend and overtime hours are required on a recurring basis. Required Education and Experience HS Diploma/GED 2 or more years of heat-treating steel products.
