B Mechanic *INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY*

Job Overview The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting for "B" Mechanic positions in the Maintenance Department. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair various components including hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Assist the "A" Mechanic with engine overhauls, transmission overhauls, differential rebuilding, and other related overhaul work. Replace major vehicle components such as A/C compressors, air compressors, starters, and generators. Operate Agency vehicles as necessary (non‑revenue service). Respond to road calls as necessary. Maintain proper maintenance and inventory records. Assist in the in‑service training of "C" Mechanics and Servicers. Perform other related tasks as required. Work Schedule Must be available to work 7 days per week, including holidays and all shifts. Assignment may be at Riverside or Hemet locations. Education & Experience Graduation from high school or its equivalent with at least two (2) years experience in the maintenance of heavy‑duty equipment or buses. Certificates, Licenses & Registration Valid non‑restricted California driver’s license. Ability to obtain a Class B license and required medical certificate. Must provide an official DMV driving history printout issued not more than 30 days prior to application, clear of suspensions for any reason within the past five (5) years and with no more than three (3) points, and no two (2) point violations. Other Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. No accidents contributed to by the applicant within the past three years. Have appeared in court as required. Equal Opportunity Statement
