As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and document activities using computer or tablet technology. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $17.95 / Hour Job Schedule: Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence hall exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and coordinating with campus personnel and/or emergency responders. Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel. Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while maintaining a professional presence in an educational setting. Minimum Requirements: Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
