Heavy-Duty Diesel MechanicA growing transportation and fleet operation in Cumberland, MD is actively seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and enjoys troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment in a fast-paced shop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of diesel trucks and trailers to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and other truck and trailer componentsPerform preventative maintenance and scheduled service inspectionsTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software and toolsComplete DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant with safety regulationsAccurately document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance recordsInspect equipment to identify potential failures or safety concernsWork collaboratively with the maintenance team and communicate repair updates effectivelyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentQualifications:Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment TechnicianStrong understanding of diesel engine systems and heavy-duty truck repairExperience using diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systemsAbility to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentationStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving recordCompensation & Benefits:Competitive Pay $27.00 - $33.00/hour based on experience and skill levelBenefits Include 100% Company-Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage401(k) Program with Profit SharingPaid Vacation and HolidaysTool AllowanceStable, long-term career opportunitySchedule Monday - Friday Afternoon Shift | 2:30 PM - 11:00 PMOvertime available and paid after 40 hoursPre-Employment Requirements:Candidates must successfully complete: Drug ScreeningDOT PhysicalMotor Vehicle Record (MVR) CheckCriminal Background CheckApply Today If you are an experienced Diesel Mechanic looking for a stable opportunity with competitive pay and excellent benefits, we encourage you to apply.
