Aide - Extended Care

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Extended Care Aide is responsible for supervising students in the extended care program before and/or after school. The aide assists with recreational and educational activities, maintains a safe and welcoming environment, and supports students' social and emotional development while following school policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise children during before- and after-school care.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
• Plan and assist with age-appropriate games, crafts, homework assistance, and recreational activities.
• Monitor student behavior and promote positive interactions.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate with parents during student pick-up.
• Assist students with snacks and ensure proper hygiene practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity area.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established safety procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and program coordinators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise groups of children in a safe and positive manner.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
