Packaging Engineer
$40 per hourTemporary
Kforce has a client in Burton, MI that is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and release packaging material specifications. A typical Packaging Engineer is responsible for improving packaging design and material specifications through research and testing. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform projects to reduce packaging material, processing, distribution, and damage costs
- Resolve complex product and packaging issues
- Develop and apply graphic design elements and product
- Identification standards for packaging materials
- Coordinate packaging requirements with plants, other departments, sources, and customers
- Stay current on new technology and new developments
- Apply high quality network/synchronous organization and lean strategies to achieve process improvement and promote teamwork
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging or other related technical area
- 5-7 years of experience required
- Expert knowledge of Testing, Design, Packaging processes
- Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team
- Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to create blueprints and technical drawings
