Mortgage Loan Officer As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Banner Bank, you will be part of our Mortgage Lending team, providing superior real‑estate loan solutions that meet Bank standards for economic value and safety. Responsibilities Originate real estate loans from various sources, including a structured outside calling program, contractors, referrals from branch personnel, and the general public. Set up originated loans in the Bank's computer system and process them for underwriting submission. Identify opportunities and provide financing sheets for listings and Realtor/builder open houses; attend weekend open houses and subdivisions for loan solicitation. Attend regular Realtor and Builder Association meetings. Participate in internal sales and training sessions and pursue external training opportunities as assigned. Conduct client meetings at Bank branch locations and attend closing signing appointments as needed. Promote home ownership through community outreach—host first‑time home buyer classes, booths at non‑profit events, and other inclusive marketing efforts. Comply with all Bank policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Education & Certifications High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred. NMLS registration required. Experience 3+ years of experience in residential mortgage origination required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven history of closing and funding loans to meet sales goals. Knowledge of mortgage loan origination processes, regulations, and underwriting. Effective presentation, verbal and written communication, and negotiation skills. Familiarity with current market competition, sales strategies, trends, and activity. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to real estate lending. Travel Up to 20% travel. Compensation & Benefits Monthly guarantee of $3,800 (not including ramp‑up period).
