NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time opportunity in Silver Spring, Maryland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with oncology and/or radiation oncology experience to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team while providing exceptional clinical care, patient education, and treatment support.
Responsibilities-
Assess patients and monitor their clinical status throughout treatment.

Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans and symptom management.

Administer medications and therapies as ordered by the physician.

Perform venipuncture and access and maintain implanted ports and central lines.

Review laboratory results and communicate relevant findings to providers.

Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and patient care.

Manage treatment-related symptoms and coordinate appropriate interventions.

Triage patient phone calls and respond to medication refill requests.

Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, consultations, and follow-up appointments.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatments.

Collaborate with physicians, Medical Assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Follow all safety protocols related to oncology treatments, hazardous materials, and radiation oncology environments.

Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.

Active Maryland RN license.

Current BLS certification required.

3 5 years of nursing experience preferred.

At least 1 year of oncology experience preferred.

Previous Radiation Oncology experience is highly preferred.

Oncology certification such as OCN is a plus.

Experience in outpatient oncology, cancer care, infusion, or radiation oncology is preferred.

Strong patient assessment, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
