We are seeking an experienced and dependable Food Service Cook to join our Dining Services team and help prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents.In this role, you will prepare daily meals, therapeutic diets, and special menu items while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and sanitary kitchen environment. What We Offer Full-time position with medical, dental, and vision benefitsGenerous paid time off, sick leave, and 10 paid holidaysMeaningful work in a mission-driven senior living communitySupportive, team-oriented workplaceOpportunity to make a direct impact on residents' daily quality of life What You'll Do Prepare meals for residents, including therapeutic diets, mechanically altered diets, special menu requests, and substitutions.Ensure meals are prepared according to recipes, dietary guidelines, and quality standards.Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by following HACCP principles.Monitor and document food temperatures, refrigeration/freezer temperatures, and sanitizer logs.Communicate meal counts, substitutions, and resident dietary needs with food service aides.Receive food deliveries, rotate stock, store inventory properly, and communicate supply needs.Ensure ingredients and supplies are available at least two days in advance of meal service.Assist with recipe updates and menu development.Monitor resident meal satisfaction and dining room meal acceptance.Provide direction to team members in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.Support departmental meetings, committees, and special events as assigned. What You Bring Minimum 2 years of quantity cooking experience requiredExperience preparing therapeutic or special diets preferredHealthcare, senior living, or institutional food service experience strongly preferredAbility to read recipes, follow written/verbal instructions, and perform recipe-related calculationsLeadership skills and/or experience directing team members preferredStrong understanding of food safety and sanitation practicesDependable attendance and punctualityProfessionalism, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality
