We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today./ppCAMBA administers services at 9 Cornerstone Community Centers across Brooklyn. All Cornerstone programs are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education, recreation, cultural activities, health information and screenings, youth leadership and social services to the neighborhoods students, their families, and other residents. Activities and services are available after school, evenings and on weekends./ppWhat The Receptionist Does:/pulliRetrieve messages from general voicemail and forward to appropriate personnel./liliTake or deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable./liliAnswer questions about organization and provide callers with address, directions, and other information./liliWelcome onsite visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel./liliUpdate appointment calendars./liliReceive, sort, and route mail, and maintain and route publications./liliMaintain fax and copy machines, assist users, send faxes, and retrieve and route incoming faxes./liliUpdate site bulletin board weekly./liliMaintain the professional appearance of the receptionists area./liliMaintain package log and program papers/liliOrder, receive, and maintain office supplies./liliCreate and print memos, correspondence, reports, program marketing materials, and other document when necessary./liliAdminister and track application forms./liliContact and schedule potential participants for assessments./liliOrganize and maintain filing system (i.e. - files must include waiting list, application forms, etc.)./liliPerform other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating./li/ulpMinimum Education/Experience Required:/pulliSufficient education (English-speaking, reading, writing, math abilities) to comprehend oral and written information and to assist callers and visitors and staff./li/ulpOther Requirements:/pulliTwo (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in a mid-sized (250+ employees) organization./liliGood written verbal communication./liliComputer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite./li/ulpCompensation: $17.51 hourly When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
