Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for an inpatient acute care setting in State College, Pennsylvania. This role is crucial in providing direct and indirect patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients recovering from acute conditions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the nursing team, assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and contributing to overall patient well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive direct patient care, including basic hygienic care (bathing, oral hygiene, skin care), assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as ambulation, feeding, dressing, and personal grooming.
• Monitor and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output accurately.
• Assist patients with admission, discharge, and transfer processes, including managing personal belongings.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests, effectively relaying messages and observations to the nursing team.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment, ensuring side rails are up, call bells are within reach, and rooms are tidy and uncluttered.
• Perform specific clinical tasks such as Bedside Glucose (BSG) testing, administering sitz baths, and applying hot/cold applications as directed.
• Assist with patient transport and pre-operative shaving as required.
• Provide indirect patient care support, including stocking supplies, delivering specimens, assembling charts, and performing general errands to support unit operations.
• Document all care provided, patient complaints, and significant observations accurately and timely.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of recent inpatient acute care experience.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
