About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience Description: Start date is late October or early November. A minimum of 13 weeks will be considered. RN will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition. Post-partum care is not included in duties. Experience with administration of blood and blood products is required. Knowledge of high-risk delivery assistance is required. Skills in breastfeeding support and lactation support are essential. Experience with cesarean sections and circulating for C-sections is necessary. RN must be proficient in pain assessment and management. Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and use external fetal monitors is required. Skills in recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns are essential. Experience in managing magnesium sulfate therapy and pitocin administration is required. Knowledge of triage processes for obstetrical patients is necessary. RN should be able to provide care for neonates and infants in addition to adults. Facility daily census is fluctuating, with an expected number of visits per day around 20. Orientation hours are set at 16, but these are not billable.
