Johnson Service Group is seeking a Management Analyst for our client in San Jose to support the Office of Government Relations, primarily within the Local Government Relations program. 

Part-Time Role (20 - 25 hours/week) - Contract - 1 Year

Pay: $45.80/hr - Management Analyst I (1 year experience)

Pay $50.55/hr - Management Analyst II (3 years experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy issues and prepare recommendations
• Support advocacy efforts with elected and appointed officials, government agencies, and external partners
• Prepare speaking points, white papers, reports, presentations, and other advocacy materials
• Participate in external meetings and represent Valley Water when appropriate
• Evaluate and process community sponsorship applications
• Support community events, booths, and festival activities
• Research and develop materials to support Valley Water’s policy priorities, public image, and reputation
• Assist with special projects and other Government Relations initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3 year of experience in administrative, operational, management, or financial analysis
• Equivalent related experience may substitute for education
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of public-sector processes, governance, and legislative operations
• Understanding of local, state, and/or federal government and legislative processes
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple competing priorities
• Highly organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and collaborative
• Professional and comfortable interacting with external stakeholders and public officials
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and events
