Overview The starting pay range for this position per hour is 21.00 - 23.00. The full pay range for this position per hour is 21.00 - 35.70. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets and may include education, work experience and certifications. Assets Protection at Target Assets Protection AP teams function to keep guests, team members and the brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests. They also build relationships inside and outside Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, inclusive of law enforcement. The role of an Assets Protection Specialist can provide you with the skills and experience of: Using surveillance and intelligence led tactics to keep team members and guests safe while aiding in the reduction of shortage Using Target s video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks Implementing Target s Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage Properly and effectively documenting cases Identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehension Responsibilities As an Assets Protection Specialist, no two days are the same; a typical day will include the following responsibilities Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments Greet guests appropriately and help them find what they need or resolve issues End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience Support total store sales, guest service and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to guests while preventing and resolving theft Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas following AP policies Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues Understand and use video systems to monitor theft activity Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation following AP policy Promote a physical security and safety culture by creating awareness and training safe standards Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests All other duties as needed Qualifications and fit You enjoy interacting and helping others including guests and fellow team members You thrive in a fast moving, highly active and physically demanding role where teamwork and problem solving are key You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours or shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and peak shopping times Training and skills Must be at least 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Meet any state or local licensure and other legal requirements related to the position Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members Ability to communicate on multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology Effective communication skills Work both independently and with a team Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently Remain focused and composed in a fast paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes Additional basics Climb ladders and handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments as required Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift Benefits eligibility Please review the benefits eligibility for this role at the following URL: ADA statement In compliance with state and federal laws, Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
