Truck Driver

Position reports to the Director of Public Works. Requires graduation from high school or GED and possession of a CDL-B at time of hire. Minimum experience of two years in excavation, construction, and operating equipment requiring CDL licensure. Successful completion of CDL pre-employment physical and drug testing required after offer of employment. Description The City of Ionia is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Department of Public Works Truck Driver. Duties include operating trucks, Hi-Ranger and related equipment, maintaining public rights-of-way, parks and other City-owned properties, maintaining water and sewer mains, proper tree trimming, and other duties as assigned. Work hours include weekdays with occasional call-in duties as weather and related events dictate. Salary & Benefits Starting wage per the collective bargaining agreement: $23.72 per hour; $31.03 after two years. Overall compensation package includes excellent fringe benefits, with paid vacation and sick leave, outstanding family health insurance, hybrid pension plan, and 8% employer-funded deferred compensation plan, among other benefits.
