Restaurant Shift Supervisor

Summary As a Shift Supervisor, you build your leadership skills and style. You will lead restaurant operations during scheduled shifts and support training for all new hires, program rollouts, and standards in your restaurant. You will be responsible for ensuring the team performs essential tasks, provides outstanding guest experiences, and contributes to smooth restaurant operations. You support restaurant management in overall operations and serve as a leader for the squad who work alongside you. You provide feedback, answer questions, and give guidance. Your objective is to model, teach, and demonstrate MOD’s purpose in all interactions. In this position, you will flex to the needs of the restaurant and the squad, sometimes leading, sometimes doing, but always keeping the MOD experience in the forefront of your mind. Key Responsibilities Ensure the right squad member is in the right place and doing the right work to support guests (deployment). Complete Deployment Charts and adjust as needed to keep daily operations running smoothly. As assigned, train newly hired or promoted squad members and support the team through new program rollouts and initiatives. Maintain operating systems and equipment to meet restaurant goals, including online ordering, catering, fundraising and customer review systems. Use and reference MOD tools and standards to ensure food safety in both Back of House and Front of House. Listen, acknowledge, and resolve squad member and/or guest concerns. Escalate issues that require resolution to the AM or GM as appropriate. Manage cash within the shift accurately and responsibly, including making change, accessing cash in the safe, and processing refunds. Take inventory and place orders as needed and supported by the GM. Adhere to all Opening/Midday/Closing shift checklists and use all tools available to execute requirements in a timely manner. Regularly review email to stay updated on and communicate any information from the Slice and other relevant sources for squad members to be effective in their roles during the shift. Required Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of customer service or restaurant experience. Demonstrated success as a mentor, trainer, or informal leader. Proven ability to prioritize and make decisions. At least 18 years old. Ability to follow and enforce processes and standards, correcting and coaching in a compassionate manner. Calming presence in periods of high volume. Must obtain a food safety certification and/or alcohol beverage certification within 30 days of start date or sooner where required by law. Proficiency in written and oral communication. Support restaurant hours by working a minimum of 3 shifts and 18 hours per week, including peak demand hours as determined by General Manager or District Manager. Compensation: $18.37/hour when combining hourly wage of $14.00 and average tips of $4.37/hour earned at this location.
