Location: Watervliet, NY
Salary: $95,000-$135,000
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

An established general contractor in the Capital Region is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join its team in Watervliet, NY.

This position is ideal for an estimator coming directly from a general contractor environment with experience preparing comprehensive bids for projects ranging approximately $5 million to $25 million . The Estimator will be responsible for developing estimates that encompass multiple divisions of construction and include a combination of self-performed work and subcontracted scopes .

The ideal candidate will have experience bidding complex building projects from plans and specifications and possess a strong understanding of construction means, methods, quantities, labor, materials, subcontractor scopes, and project costs.

Responsibilities

Prepare comprehensive estimates and competitive bids for construction projects ranging approximately from $5M-$25M
Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and other contract documents to develop complete project estimates
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for self-performed construction scopes
Develop labor, material, equipment, and production-based pricing for self-performed work
Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals across multiple divisions
Identify scope gaps, overlaps, risks, and constructability considerations during the bidding process
Develop estimates covering both self-performed and subcontracted portions of the work
Participate in bid reviews and assist with final pricing and proposal preparation
Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative construction approaches
Coordinate with project management and field operations during project turnover
Maintain historical pricing and cost information to support future estimates
