Survivor Services Mental Health Clinician (FFS)
Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI), a nationally recognized provider serving survivors of sexual abuse and trauma, is seeking a fee-for-service Outpatient Clinician to join its Survivor Services program. This candidate must be committed to providing the highest quality clinical services to participants in JJPI's programs. This position reports to the Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative techniques to serve the participants of JJPI more effectively, providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy to Survivor Services participants, maintaining a full caseload and working on program development to support and improve the financial health of the agency, developing and maintaining clinical utilization at 60%, attending evidence-based practice group consultations and individual supervision on a weekly basis, providing supervisors with audiotaped or videotaped samples of sessions as requested, ensuring the provision of comprehensive case management services to participants at 20% case management utilization, maintaining clinical records in accordance with agency, managed care, and licensing requirements, seeking out appropriate professional training, assisting in implementing new, innovative treatment strategies, developing and maintaining professional relationships with other agencies, completing an initial treatment plan review within the first two visits of the participant's contract, completing updated treatment/resiliency plans every 15th session or 90 days, completing clinical progress notes within 24 hours of each session, completing case management progress notes within 24 hours of each activity, following up appropriately with participants who have missed a session and continuing appropriate outreach, completing a discharge summary within 48 hours of the termination date, completing and submitting utilization reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week, making initial contact with each participant within five working days of assignment, understanding the payment source of each participant, working effectively with other staff and contributing to the development of a team approach to treatment, understanding and communicating with other programs within the agency and working to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs, understanding the impact of the caseload requirements on the financial performance of the agency, working with other staff to develop new treatment programs to promote the financial performance of the agency, promoting the agency in interactions with other agencies and professionals, and must maintain own liability insurance.
Skills include the ability to work effectively with other staff and contribute to a team approach to treatment, ability to meet timelines, ability to communicate in writing and verbally, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database entry.
Education: Master's degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline required. Degree must include at least 12 credit hours in clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services. Up to 3 of these credit hours can be derived from a supervised clinical mental health practicum experience.
Experience: Must meet one of the following: have at least 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment or JJPI may consider candidates actively engaged in a related internship/practicum with lesser applied experience.
Pay Grade: 18
