Nurse Practitioner (Sumter County - Traveling)

Nurse Practitioner

This position will be housed in Americus, GA and will travel throughout West Central Health District's 16-county health departments to perform advanced nursing functions. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Conduct preventative health care assessments with a focus on PrEP Services, Women's Health, STD examinations and treatment, and hypertension & cancer detection.
• Assess the client's condition, perform, and interpret laboratory tests, prescribe appropriate treatments/therapies, and provide education.
• Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations and minor invasive procedures as medically required/recommended.
• Perform insertions and removals of various LARC devices.

*Travel will be required throughout West Central Health District's 16-county health departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as an APRN AND CPR certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Public Health experience, prior knowledge and/or experience with Women's Health, PrEP services, Women's health, STD examinations.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency.
