Position Description PIPE-LAYER JOB DESCRIPTION SALARY/ PAY: $20.00 - $27.00 HOURLY (Wage determined by experience verified byreferences and upon completion of interview).
REPORTS TO: Pipe-layerposition reports to; Jobsite Foreman, Project Manager, &Office Management. SUMMARY/ ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS (Pipelayer role, mainlybut not limited to;)
• Reports directlyto Job Foreman daily.
• Completes tasksassigned for excavation and construction of underground utility sitework, oftenworking in trenches.
• Effectivelycompletes all jobs assigned within the designated time limit.
• Must maintain aclean and safe work area. Identifies hazards associated with task assignmentsand asks questions when clarification is needed.
• Comply with allsafety policies, practices and procedures.
• Check the qualityof pipe to ensure it is without defect.
• Additionally, Pipelayermust be able to lay out laterals, set up for dig, being aware of possiblesafety issues, be capable of grading for pipe as well as attach laterals,fittings, valves and curb inlets and lay pipe into trenches.
• Any other work asassigned by Foreman, Project Manager and/or Office Managers. EXPERIENCE:
• Must have aminimum of 1 year experience in wet utility underground construction.
PHYSICAL/ ENVIRONMENTALDEMANDS
• Ability to liftat least 50 lbs. multiple times daily.
• Competency andawareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards.
• Requires workingoutside in the elements with constant exposure to dirt, dust and otherparticles.
• Exposure to hotoutdoor temperatures for up to 10 hours a day, along with direct sunlight.
• Exposure to coldweather and snowy conditions in the winter months. EXPECTATIONS This is a FULL-TIME position. Working hours will varydepending on the season, job site, and demand of work. Overtime is required andvaries depending on the demand of work. Attendance is an essential function ofthis job. A successful candidate will have reliable transportation to andfrom the jobsite daily.
