Job OpportunityThe Acute Care Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist provides essential healthcare services by assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves performing CT procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct CT exams and procedures as requested by the medical staff, including services for NICU, CCU, and the Emergency Department.Assist Radiologists and other medical staff during examinations and procedures.Perform ancillary duties to ensure proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams.Complete accurate documentation for proper interpretation, reporting, and retrieval of exams.Retrieve written orders and related health information to facilitate timely performances and reporting.Participate in the implementation and monitoring of quality indicators as outlined in the strategic plan.Work independently in a complex acute care inpatient environment.Train and support peers as needed.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification as R.T.(R) and advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT).Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.A minimum of two years of radiology experience as a registered technologist.Preferred QualificationsOne year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II).Essential Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity while maintaining confidentiality.Effectively performs essential job functions in a busy and stressful environment.Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment efficiently.Possesses strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work to meet multiple deadlines.Works varied shifts and participates in the call rotation as scheduled.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds to assist with patient and bedside needs.Must be able to work for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight hours or more daily.Willingness to work beyond the standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.On-call availability as required to address organizational and patient needs promptly.Proficiency in effective communication both in person and through various technologies.Work EnvironmentJob tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and infectious diseases.
