MILLWORK OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Job Details Level: Management. Job Location: Millwork Interior Warehouse - Huntsville, AL 35811. Position Type: Full Time. Job Shift: Day Shift. Role Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production at a Millwork Plant, as well as overseeing all shipping and receiving functions. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew and the Millwork dock team, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff. Scope of the Position This position is responsible for the production and dock team at the Huntsville, AL Millwork Plant. Direct reports include approximately 15 – 25 production and dock employees. Responsibilities Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates. Ensure that all produced products are loaded and shipped onto enclosed trailers in a safe and timely manner. Oversee all inbound receiving functions for the location. Comply with all OSHA safety requirements. Communicate effectively with management staff, the production team and the dock team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met. Ensure company policies and procedures are followed. Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production and shipping schedule. Oversee all staff scheduling and time‑off requests. Monitor quality and accuracy of all orders. Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment. Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required. Provide a positive, motivating example for employees. Conduct training or authorize training of production and dock employees. Conduct formal performance reviews per the company’s policy. Initiate disciplinary action according to company policy. Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit. Inform Manager of equipment, production, shipping, and receiving concerns. Monitor ongoing operational issues and provide clear communications and resolutions. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience. A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in operations leadership roles.
