Qualifications Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Administration and have five years of successful teaching experience and/or school leadership experience Meet Teacher and Administrator Certification requirements as established by the State of Michigan, including documented continuing education Catechist certification Protecting God’s Children certification Willingness to attain any above credentials Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills Possess knowledge and understanding of finances, including managing annual school budget Desirable Traits and Attitudes Possesses strong Christian values and behaviors Lives, believes, acts, and teaches in conformity to the full official teachings of the Catholic Church Is a positive role model for students and adults Respects confidentiality and integrity Works collaboratively and has strong leadership skills Has strong grasp of quality teaching and learning in all grades and subjects Works well independently and also as a team member Exercises wisdom in decision making Understands and attends to big picture while being detail-oriented Communicates and responds to communication in a thoughtful and timely manner Shows professionalism and strong ethical behavior Inspires confidence and trust with students, parents, and colleagues Uses interpersonal and conflict resolution skills in dealing with students and parents Has the ability to work independently, organize, and use time effectively Dresses professionally Performance Responsibilities In partnership with the St. Joseph parish priests, serve as spiritual leader of the school with a commitment to fostering Catholic Culture Serve as a Catholic educational leader and establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior Establish, manage, evaluate, and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of the school including instructional programs, professional development, extracurricular activities, discipline, program and personnel evaluation, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures Ensure compliance with all laws, civil regulations and policies, MANS Accreditation regulations and all AOD Policies Oversee the development of Curriculum with a focus on integrating Catholic thought and practice throughout the curriculum as well as best practices in instruction Oversee the school budget, finances, and purchasing, in collaboration with the business manager Coordinate and facilitate faculty professional development and faith formation efforts Serve as the instructional leader of the school, guiding, evaluating, and coaching the teaching and support staff members Cooperate with stakeholders for the benefit of the school Establish procedures for evaluation and selection of instructional materials and equipment Establish a professional rapport with staff, faculty, parents, and students, displaying the highest ethical and professional behavior Establish rapport with parish members, the local community, and the local school district, especially in connection to Shared Time Services Coordinate and manage participation in Federal Programs Oversee the School Advisory Committee and School Improvement Team Establish procedures that create and maintain organized, functional, clean and safe facilities Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the Archdiocese of Detroit and the State of Michigan Organize and supervise procedures for identifying and addressing special needs of students, including implementation and tracking of Accommodation Plans Attend required meetings to include: School Advisory Committee, AOD Principal Meetings, Parish Leadership Team meetings, and others as needed Establish and oversee rules and regulations pertaining to staff and students Nurture students and teachers to achieve their greatest potential spiritually, academically, and instructionally Advocate for the needs of St. Joseph Catholic School and its students To Apply Send cover letter, resume, and references/letters of recommendation to Joe Zmikly, business manager, at View email address on click.appcast.io . #J-18808-Ljbffr
