The Role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen teams in San Francisco.
You will support the Kitchen Chef in preparing and presenting food to a high standard. You will follow prep sheets, maintain food safety procedures and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently throughout service.
This is an hourly position with rotating shifts, including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to prep sheets and manager instructions
- Maintain high standards of food safety and avoid cross contamination
- Follow FIFO and LDIR stock rotation systems
- Use kitchen tools such as slicers, knives, and measuring equipment safely
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding orders and service needs
- Stock and organise food items ahead of service
- Label, store, and rotate ingredients correctly
- Maintain cleanliness across all kitchen work areas
- Clean and switch off equipment at the end of each shift
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages
- Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- Report any health or safety concerns immediately

The Person
You will need to be an all-round line-cook able to execute high-volume order cooking as well as being a great team player in the kitchen arena.
You will bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar kitchen role
- High school diploma or equivalent (culinary qualification desirable)
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practice
- Ability to work efficiently in a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to multitask during busy service periods
- CA food handler's license certified, required
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 10-15 lbs, occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 lbs, rarely lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 100 lbs (with assistance)
Covid Vaccination is required for this role. Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with applicable regulations.
This is an hourly post. Attendance will be required in line with the business requirements, including at weekends, holidays and in the early mornings as well as evenings, based on rotating scheduling.
