Labor & Employment Associate / Counsel

Our client is an established law firm seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join its practice in Seattle.

Location: Seattle, WA Employment Type: Full-Time | In-Office/Hybrid Experience: 6-12 Years

About the Opportunity

The position is available at the Associate or Counsel level. For highly experienced attorneys with a portable book of business, an Income Principal opportunity may also be considered.

The attorney will represent employers across a broad range of industries and handle both employment litigation and advice/counseling matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle single-plaintiff and class-action employment litigation.
• Advise employers on employment law and workplace matters.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, employee leave, and disability accommodations.
• Draft and review employment agreements, settlements, policies, and employee handbooks.
• Provide direct client counseling and develop strong client relationships.
• Independently manage multiple matters and collaborate with attorneys across the practice.
• Participate in business development and support practice-group growth.
• Traditional labor experience, including collective bargaining, is a plus.
• Oregon employment law or litigation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of labor and employment law experience.
• Broad experience in employment litigation, counseling, and compliance.
• Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective and efficient client service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to independently manage significant responsibilities and multiple matters.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Demonstrated interest in business development.
• Active Washington State Bar license required.
• Oregon Bar admission is a plus.
