As a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Overview People. Role Purpose This role is responsible for the primary service that depends on well‑maintained vehicles, organization and tracking of the fleet and expenses within the company. The GSE manager will have the ability to accurately maintain and hold responsibility for an exceptional level of quality of all ground support equipment in the company and ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by established procedures and protocols, diesel experience is preferred. Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses in the station. Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections. Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery. Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program. Coordinates scheduling of equipment to be repaired. Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment. Ensures ground equipment and fueling repair deadlines are met. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Performs as a mentor to other employees and provides training to new employees. As such the Company prohibits such misuse and carries out regular testing to enforce our Substance Misuse Policy. Qualifications 3 to 5 years mechanical experience Must be 18 years of age or older. Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record. Pass pre‑employment drug screen and all pre‑employment testing. Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English. Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal. Report any significant deficiency in our products, materials, and documents. Ability to add, subtract, multiply in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization. Must have high school diploma, GED or one‑year experience as a Supervisor in the Aviation Industry Completion of an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree program (preferred).
