Here's What You Need Nursing Diploma Required Associate Degree in Nursing Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse Required Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse Preferred Minimum 1 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery Highly preferred Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) Required upon hire BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support Required prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required within 90 days of hire NRP Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program Required within 90 days of hire CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Required within 90 days of hire; maintained annually NRPA Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program Required within 90 days of hire Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM): If newly hired with perinatal experience and have never taken IFM required within 6 months If no experience in perinatal nursing required within 18 months AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Required within 18 months (after 6 months of experience with EFM) Skills A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
