Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Skilled Oncology Nurse!

Job Description:


- Position: Oncology Nurse
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in oncology nursing (ONC experience is a must)
- Licensure: Active California RN License required
- Certifications Needed: BLS & ONS/ONCC certifications
- Flu Vaccine: Required (No exemptions or declinations)
- Travelers: First-time travelers are not accepted
- Epic Experience: Must have experience with the Epic charting system
- Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-hour schedule from 09:00 to 23:30
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Floating Requirement: Yes
- On-Call Requirement: No
- Active License: Must be active at the time of submission

Patient Care Details:


- Unit Focus: Hematology Oncology (CARt/BMT/Stem Cell Transplant), Solid Tumors
- Daily Census: Approximately 75 patients
- Room Count: 56 rooms and 12 beds
- Special Equipment: PAS-ports, CADD pumps, infusion pumps

Key Responsibilities:


- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and implement interventions
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effects
- Administer intravenous chemotherapy, blood products, and manage continuous infusions
- Triage and monitor patient conditions and communicate any changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care

Qualifications:


- Previous Charge Experience: Required
- Travel Experience: Required
- Skills: Proficient in managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and providing patient support
- Additional Skills: Assessing medication tolerance, managing side effects, and recognizing abnormal lab values

Submission Requirements:


- References: Two references from the past year from supervisors (no Charge RN)
- Background Policy: Detailed written statement required for any license or background hits
- RTO Rules: Max RTO of 2 weeks total; no RTO within the first 2 weeks of assignment
