Technical Project Manager

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support the day-to-day program management, scheduling, reporting, and coordination activities of the BASIS program. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the selected candidate will assist in managing cost, schedule, and technical performance across the program's broad portfolio of application sustainment, modernization, and security activities.

This role is ideal for an early-to-mid career project management professional with a strong technical aptitude and an interest in growing within a large-scale Federal IT program. The Technical Project Manager will support Agile sprint coordination, assist in maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), prepare status reports and briefings, track risks and issues, and serve as a coordination point between technical teams, subcontractors, and Government stakeholders. A Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

This is a 100% remote role.

Program & Schedule Management

• Support the Contract Program Manager in managing cost, schedule, and technical performance across all BASIS program tasks and subtasks.
• Maintain and update the Service Now Project schedules Server and SharePoint repository, ensuring tasks, milestones, estimated dates, and dependencies are current and provide weekly IMS presentations to customer.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the Project Management Plan (PMP), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Product Roadmaps and Communication Plan.

Reporting & Meeting Support

• Prepare weekly IPR slide decks and written reports, due 2 hours prior to each Integrated Progress Review; capture and distribute meeting minutes and action items.
• Coordinate and track project deliverables

Risk & Issue Management

• Support the maintenance of the formal Risk Register, including probability/impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and current status.
• Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to ensure POA&M submissions and updates are completed within required timelines.
• Maintain product backlog and project tasks in JIRA;

Agile & DevSecOps Coordination

• Support the program's Agile/Scrum delivery model by coordinating sprint planning, daily scrum facilitation, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across technical delivery teams.
• Track and report sprint point burn rates and velocity metrics.
• Coordinate with QA, development, and security teams to ensure Agile sprint deliverables — including automated test cases, RTMs, and release artifacts — are on track for end-of-sprint completion.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating code reviews

Stakeholder & Subcontractor Coordination

• Serve as a coordination point between internal technical teams, subcontractors, Government stakeholders, and external partners.
• Assist in coordinating distribution of release notes and technical documentation.

Tools & Administrative Support

• Maintain and organize program documentation, deliverable tracking, and collaboration workspaces in SharePoint.
• Support reporting and data extraction activities as directed by the Program Manager.
• Coordinate ServiceNow workflow tickets and incident tracking as required by program operations.

Qualifications

• 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with HS Diploma
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Experience in project coordination, project management, or program support roles, preferably within IT or software development programs.
• Working knowledge of project management fundamentals including schedule management, risk tracking, status reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience supporting sprint-based delivery teams.
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools including Microsoft Project, Service Now, SharePoint, and JIRA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear, concise status reports and briefing materials for Government and senior leadership audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, track deliverable deadlines, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional DoD program environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or active pursuit; Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) accepted.
• SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or equivalent Agile certification.
• Prior experience supporting DoD or Federal government IT programs with formal deliverable obligations.
• Experience with DevSecOps program environments and sprint-level project tracking.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for workflow and incident management.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and managing multi-vendor program environments.
• Familiarity with DEERS, TRICARE, or other DoD healthcare/benefits systems.
• Basic understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cybersecurity compliance obligations within DoD IT programs.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
